Leyden Eagles Loses Close Game Against Irish Varsity 3-2

Zeb Rashenkas is leader with two goals and Irish Varsity scores go ahead goal in the third to squeak by for the win

Derien Denoyer netted the game-winning goal with 10:31 left in the third period, as Irish Varsity prevailed against Leyden Eagles 3 - 2 at Franklin Park Ice Arena on Sunday. Irish Varsity racked up two unanswered goals to jump in to the lead in the first period. Leyden Eagles added two goals in the second period to even up the score. The second period closed with both teams at two goals a piece. Irish Varsity took the lead in the third period with one goal and won the game.

In the first period, Irish Varsity got things going when Zeb Rashenkas put the puck between the pipes with an assist from Justin Windeler, with 10:16 left in the period. Irish Varsity fired up their game when Rashenkas put the biscuit over the goal line once more with 2:28 left on the clock. Derien Denoyer and Ronny Nayder assisted on the goal, to get further ahead. In the second period, Leyden Eagles responded when Forward Player put the puck in the net with 13:56 left in the period. Forward Player and Forward Player got the assists on the goal. Next, Player netted another goal with 3:53 left on the clock, to make the game tied. In the third period, Irish Varsity answered back when Derien Denoyer got a goal with an assist from Justin Windeler, with 10:31 left in the period, going ahead for the win.

Having a good day, Zeb Rashenkas got two goals for Irish Varsity. Derien Denoyer tallied one goal for Irish Varsity. Justin Windeler had two helpers.

Turning in a good performance, Forward Player netted two goals as well as two assists for Leyden Eagles.

Irish Varsity's Blake Clatterbuck had 15 saves to gain the win. Leyden Eagles's Goalie Player had 20 saves on 23 shots to suffer the loss.

Leyden Eagles finished the game with a record of 2 wins and 2 losses.
