Munster High School was superior against Irish Jr. Varsity 4 - 1 at Midwest Ice Arena on Saturday. Munster High School and Irish Jr. Varsity both scored one goal to end the first period tied. Munster High School took the lead in the second period with one unanswered goal. The Munster High School defense took over in the final period. In the final period Munster High School scored two unanswered goals cementing the lead and winning the game.
In the first period, Irish Jr. Varsity put points on the board when Tyler Wayner put the puck in the net with 3:27 left in the period. Nate Ashline assisted on the goal. Munster High School pushed back when Forward Player put the puck in the net without assistance with 1:43 left on the clock, to bring things to a tie. In the second period, maintaining pressure, Player once more got the puck in the goal another time with assists from Forward Player and Forward Player with 4:05 left on the clock, taking the lead by 1. This put Munster High School out in front for good. In the third period, then Player did it again and netted another goal with an assist from Forward Player, with 5:59 left on the clock, to move further ahead. Pounding the defense, Player again got the puck past the goalie another time, with 1:29 left on the clock, adding to their lead.
Tyler Wayner added one goal for Irish Jr. Varsity.
Irish Jr. Varsity's Tommy Schirmer blocked 18 out of 22 shots on goal and got the loss.
Munster High School moves to a record of 2 wins and 0 losses. Irish Jr. Varsity ended the game with a record of 3-15.
