LincolnWay Outscores Irish Jr. Varsity 5-1

LincolnWay scores two goals in the second, goes on to win

LincolnWay finished off Irish Jr. Varsity 5 - 1 at Darien Sportsplex on Sunday. Irish Jr. Varsity scored one goal to jump in to the lead in the first period. LincolnWay took over the lead in the second period with two straight goals. Irish Jr. Varsity's fate was sealed. In the final period LincolnWay scored three goals cementing the lead and winning the game.

In the first period, coming through for Irish Jr. Varsity, Colin Renville lit the lamp without assistance with 12:53 left in the period. In the second period, LincolnWay responded when Forward Player lit the lamp with 8:55 left on the clock. Forward Player assisted on the goal, evening up the score with 1 goal each. Pushing forward, LincolnWay's Player once again snagged another goal with 0:11 left in the period. Forward Player assisted on the goal, to go ahead. This put LincolnWay ahead for good. In the third period, pushing forward, LincolnWay's Player put the biscuit over the goal line once more with 11:35 left on the clock. Forward Player assisted on the goal, to move further ahead. Piercing though the defense, Player again snagged another goal with an assist from Forward Player, with 10:11 left on the clock, moving further into the lead. Adding another score for LincolnWay, Player once more lit the lamp yet again with 7:11 left in the period. Forward Player assisted on the goal, to pull further ahead.

Colin Renville contributed one goal for Irish Jr. Varsity.

Irish Jr. Varsity's Tommy Schirmer had only 27 saves on 32 shots on goal for the loss.

LincolnWay added to their current win streak of two games and ended the game with a perfect record of 3 wins and 0 losses. Irish Jr. Varsity ended the game with a record of 3 wins and 14 losses.
